The History Museum of Mobile’s upcoming Learning Lunch Program is on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 12 PM and will feature Meredith Wilson, architectural historian for the City of Mobile. The title of her presentation will be Mobile Modistes: The Businesswomen Who Clothed 19th Century Mobile. As an architectural historian with the City of Mobile, Meredith Wilson oversees the nomination of new National Register Historic Districts and updates to Mobile’s 14 existing districts. Prior to joining the Mobile Historic Development Department in December 2021, Meredith spent 5 years as an architectural conservator in Washington, DC, where she worked on preservation projects at the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Library of Congress, and Marine Barracks Washington, among others. Meredith holds a Master's in Historic Preservation from Clemson University and a Bachelor's in English, French, and History from the University of Mississippi.
The History Museum of Mobile invites the public to attend the free Learning Lunch lecture series. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy a presentation on an historical or cultural topic.
