Learn to Use a Sewing Pattern
Join us on Sun 7th July 10 am for an exciting workshop where you will learn how to use a sewing pattern, unravelling the mystery around symbols on patterns and understanding the terminology around garment making.
Our experienced instructor will teach you all the basics of using a sewing pattern, from reading the instructions to choosing the right size for you, cutting and sewing the fabric to make this lovely summer dress.
This event is perfect for beginners who have basic sewing machine skills and want to take the next step to learn how to make a garment. Spaces are limited so don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a valuable skill and meet new people!
This workshop is suitable for age 12+ . You will need to bring your own fabric. There is a £30 charge for this workshop which includes the price of the pattern (valued at £9) which you get to take with you to reuse as often as you like.
Once you have booked we will be in contact within a few days regarding the amount of fabric your require for your size. You could recycle an old cotton duvet for this workshop and we had some lovely upcycles on previous workshops.
The workshop will take place in The Hub and last roughly 7 hours with a 30 min break for lunch.
We regularly take photographs at our events to support us explaining what we do, and keep our funders informed. If for any reason you would prefer not to have your image included, please discuss this on arrival with the event leader
The Hub is located upstairs in The Glades next to HMV and Waterstones.
