This class is a great introduction to the lathe and is designed for a full day of turning. In the morning you turn a Christmas Tree (spindle) and in the afternoon you turn a beautiful candy bowl decorated with milk paint. This is a comprehensive 6 hour class with a 30 minute lunch break. All class participants receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased in the store on the same day of their class. Exclusions apply. The right sequence of steps in the build process will help ensure that your project is completed with minimal rework and “design opportunities”. We will teach you the techniques needed, the proper steps, including assembly, glue up, sanding and final finishing. Students should come properly attired for a woodworking class (tight fitting clothing, long hair restrained and constrained from the face); and bring or wear provided industry standard hearing protection and safety glasses during equipment operation. All woodworking classes are held in a store that sells a wide variety of woods, including exotic woods such as cedar, aromatic cedar and other products (e.g., finishes, cleaners, etc.) that may cause allergic or other reactions in a small number of cases. You must be at least 18 years old (or 14 years old or older and accompanied with an adult) for this class.
