We’ll cover everything you need to know—from selecting the perfect fabrics and threads to transferring patterns onto fabric. At the end of the class, you’ll have created your very own hand-stitched aut hoop, ready to hang in your home or give as a unique heartfelt gift.
This class is more than just learning a new skill; it's about finding joy in the meditative process of stitching and watching your creativity come to life. Whether you’re brand new to embroidery or looking to refresh your skills, you’ll leave with a completed project and the confidence to keep stitching on your own.
About the Instructor:
I taught myself to sew while studying Art History at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. I fell in love with the embroidery while studying Decorative Arts at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
I didn't get the chance put needle and thread together until many years later after becoming a mother to 4 busy little ones. I couldn't sit alone a sewing machine, so I searched out a way to create while sitting out at the playground, or waiting in carpool pick up lines.
Modern embroidery has grown, but I was disappointed in patterns i saw. As a believer, I wished to spend my time stitching in a mindful meditation of the Holy Scriptures, or at least edifying in some way. I desire for my designs to uplift the spirit, the soul, and reflect God's beautiful creation.
let's take stitching as an opportunity to slow down and to dwell on what is good, beautiful and lovely.
