Ready to roll into a world of excitement, fun, and new skills? Join us for Derby Skating 101 in Term 4.
What is Derby Skating 101?
Derby Skating 101 is your passport to the thrilling world of roller derby. Whether you're a beginner or looking to brush up on your skills, this program is tailored to help you confidently glide, spin, and enjoy roller derby with style.
Our coaches will teach you the minimum skills to become a derby skater (full contact), referee (low/no contact), or rec skater (no contact).
Why Skating 101?
* Learn the Basics: From balance and strides to stops and turns, master the fundamentals of roller derby skating in a supportive environment.
* Build Confidence: Boost your confidence on wheels with expert guidance and friendly fellow skaters.
* Fun-Filled Sessions: Each session is packed with laughter, enthusiasm, and the joy of cruising on wheels.
Who Can Join?
* Total beginners looking to take their first strides
* Those eager to dust off their skates and rekindle their love for skating
* Anyone seeking a welcoming community of fellow roller derby skating enthusiasts
Details: Adults 18+ (We will take 17 soon to turn 18)
Children aged 5+ (mini skate) and 8+ for level 2 roller derby and 14+ for level 3 roller derby.
Coached training sessions are at Celebration Sports Stadium (179 Pages Rd, Wainoni): Sundays Term time session start 4.30 to 6 pm. (If possible skaters to come 15mins early for gear up).
Adults $70 per term
Mini Skate/Learn to Skate $60 +$5 registration fee
Junior Roller Derby $65 + $5 registration fee
Gear Hire: $10 for hire gear per term. *We only have limited hire gear*
Term 4 (Oct 6th - Nov 24th)
