A rite of passage for most garment sewists, the ever-useful lounge pant. It's a great first sew, and this pattern even has pockets! Together, we'll read the unisex adult pattern, cut the fabric and sew. Sarah will guide you through the entire process. The pattern does have some limitations, it's fairly straight yet relaxed in style, and has the following body measurements ranges: waist 28"-44" and hip 35"-49".Foundational Skills taught:

Inserting an elastic waistband
Sewing an in-seam pocket
Checking fit as you sew
Prerequisites: Bring your own sewing machine, power cord and pedal. You will need to know how to use your machine, including winding a bobbin and sew a straight stitch. Knowledge of the use of cutting and ironing tools safely.

Sarah is a quilter and garment sewist with many years experience. She has tested patterns for companies and frequently sews clothes for herself and her family.
Cost: $65
Materials list: Sewing machine, pedal, power cord, coordinating thread, lightweight flannel or cotton broadcloth, pre-washed and pressed. Very important for flannel, as it is more likely to shrink. When you register for the class, we can help you determine yardage. Optional tools: marking pencil or tailor's chalk, scissors and pinking shears, pins, seam ripper. These items are available for use in the classroom.
