Sewing special fabrics like velvet or jersey is challenging. Keeping layers of fabric together, sewing the correct seams or choosing the correct sewing machine setup can be difficult. Join us on this short course to learn top tips and tricks to make sewing your favourite fabrics easier. From velvet tops to swimming costumes, we can teach you how to handle difficult fabrics! The course is practical so all fabrics and tools will be provided for you to learn various sewing methods. Our class will cover all common sewing challenges!
We will learn how to sew:
- jersey
- silk
- Velvet
- Organza
- Wool
- Leather
Experience with a sewing machine would be useful. If you are a complete beginner you could take part in our Sewing Machine Skills workshop first which teaches you the basics. In order to keep the class focused on everyone’s personal needs, we are only taking 5 students. The small workshop size ensures valuable one-to-one teacher and participant time, allowing maximum engagement and assistance.
