Learn how to make an easy patchwork zipper bag using the Ten Sisters Grid panel. In this class you will make this adorable zipper bag and go home with some new patchwork and sewing skills, plus an adorable zipper bag! The class includes the pattern and a kit of all the materials you will need. There will be an assortment of fabrics and colors to choose from but IF you would like to bring your own fabrics, you will need to bring the following:
1 Mini Charm Pack (42 – 2 ½” squares), 1 fat quarter for lining and tabs, 11” or 14” nylon zipper – all other items needed (pattern, batting, grid, D-ring) will be in the kit provided in the class.
This is a BEGINNER level sewing class, so do not worry if you are just starting. If you are a seasoned sewist, you’ll have fun and maybe learn a few new tricks.
Items needed:
- Sewing Machine that is in working order (don’t forget your power cord!). Don’t have a machine? Don’t worry! When signing up for the class, please select “I Need to Borrow a Machine” and we will have one set up for you –
- Quarter inch foot (or general purpose foot), zipper foot and walking foot (this will help with quilting but is not necessary)
- Neutral color (white, beige, gray) sewing thread and 2 bobbins filled
- Sewing tools (scissors, clips or pins, stiletto or purple thang, seam ripper)
- Washable glue stick – we will have a few to use, but if you have one, please bring it
- Marking pen or pencil, small ruler
- Mini iron and wool pressing mat (if you have one!)
