🍌🍚 In this 2hr workshop you will learn how to prepare banana leaves for wrappers, cook a delicious sticky, salty coconut rice and learn the technique to wrap it ready for steaming.We share tips how/where to source banana leaves, what to look for, how to prepare them and you will do some hands-on wrapping.
After the parcels are steamed, we will taste some together and you can take some home, bragging about your new skill to make minimal impact food treats.
👩🍳 Our Chef Alice was born in the Philippines and has worked in Dubai and Oman as a cook. She is a great talent and regularly spoils the attendees of Pablo’s Community Dinner in Sandringham with her delicious contributions.
Ellen, a Sandringham local will talk a bit about banana growing even in small gardens or raised beds.
Bring an apron and 1-2 take-away containers, a drinking bottle, pen & paper.
