About this Event

In partnership with the Friends of Dog Kennel Hill Wood group, we're helping to make Dog Kennel Hill Open Space more beautiful by laying hedgerows that lie along the boundary of the woods and the housing estate.

Hedgerows are a vital source of biodiversity, consisting of several different types of trees and plants, and help keep the park healthy. They also support local wildlife and host the most diverse habitats in Britain. One hundred and twenty five of Britain's most threatened species like to live in hedgerows!

A trained hedg laying expert, Robert Cole, will give you tips on how to lay and maintain a hedgerow it so that it will support wildlife for decades if not centuries.

Learn this ancient countryside craft - and build your green skills.

Perhaps you will be able to apply them in a green space near you!
