WHAT TO EXPECT
Hudson-based fiber artist, Lizz Hill Wiker will lead a beginner’s knitting workshop. She will teach you everything you need to know to get started on your first knitting project. You will learn the basics; holding needles "english" or "continental" style, casting-on and the knit stitch and will have resources to take home to continue learning and eventually tackle your first, simple pattern (included in the workshop).
Each timeslot will have 3 students maximum and the workshop will run for 90-minutes.
Experience Level: This is tailored to total beginers, with no prior experience but the workshop is also good for those who knit in the past and need a refresher.
MATERIALS
Lizz will have materials on hand that students can use while they are in the workshop. If you would like to bring materials so that you can bring your project home with you and continue working, please bring the following items with you:
- 1 skein or ball of "chunky" or "bulky" weight yarn from your local yarn store or craft store
- Knitting needles in size US #11 (8mm) or US #13 (9mm)- preferably "circular" needles in cable length 24 or 40 inch but straight needles will also work fine
