Join Hudson-based knitter and fiber artist Lizz Hill Wiker for a beginner's knitting workshop. She will teach you everthing you need to know to make your own lightweight scarf, bandanna, or dish towel, and give you resources to continue learning.
During the class, students will learn the basics of knitting including casting on, the knit stitch, and binding off. Lizz aill also provide an overview of how to select yarns and needles, and will get you familiar with common knitting tools and reading patterns. No prior experience is required.
Included in the workshop fee is hands-on instruction, a booklet with your patterns and resources, along with a skein of Nobletown's medium-weight 2 -ply yarn, sourced and spun right here in Columbia County---- plus a set of knitting needles, which are yours to keep after the class.
Lizz Hill Wiker is a fiber artist, 3D modeler and knitter living full-time in Hudson, New York. Her work often combines traditional handcraft techniques with modern technologies like 3D printing. In addition to teaching beginner and intermediate knitting classes at local craft stores and specialty shops in the Hudson Valley, Lizz hosts community knitting groups in partnership with Barnfox (held at Hudson and Kingston locations).
