About this Event
Darning is a kind of mending. Mending is something we can all do, saving clothes from the landfill and healing our hearts in the process. Mending is a meditative, slow process that improves with practice.
Sivia will teach several methods during this workshop that you can use right away to start darning your socks, sweaters, and other knitwear. These darning techniques can also be used for mending other garments.
Garments to practice on will be provided, but PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN ITEMS to work on if you have something at home you'd like to learn to darn.
If you have darning supplies, please bring those. They include:
-scissors
-yarn (that matches your garment or not if you'd like to do visible mending) or embroidery thread
-a darning egg, an orange, glass bottle, or something hard to put inside your garment to use as a darning egg
**Repair supplies will also provided.
