About this Event
Cuban Salsa is a funky, down-to-earth style that’s inclusive of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. We invite you to join our classes held every Wednesday night from 7pm in Grey Lynn, where you will enjoy a fun-filled hour learning to dance with Cuban-trained maestro Vivio, who has decades of experience teaching and performing.WHY LEARN SALSA?
> Salsa dancing is a skill you can take onto dance floors around the world, and also develop alongside related Cuban dance styles like Rueda de Casino, Cha-Cha, Son, Mambo, Afro-Cuban Orishas and Rumba.

> Have a great time with plenty of fun and laughter!
> Make new friends! Dancing is social and great for your mental health. Countless friendships and even a few partnerships have arisen from our classes.

> Become fitter and healthier! Dancing is the ultimate workout — proven to improve the condition of the heart and lungs, along with muscle tone and strength, increase endurance, and improve motor skills and aerobic fitness.

> Understand music and timing! Cuban music is super happy and energising! From Buena Vista Social Club to Alexander Abreu — it’s just beautiful music to listen and dance to!

> Become part of a community that enjoys dancing at festivals, parties and events around the country, where you will mingle with different cultures and art forms.

> Learn about dance, Cuban culture and Spanish language throughout your dancing journey.

NB: Vivio also gives private dance lessons if you need individual or small group attention or want to fast-track your learning.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CLASS:
LOCATION: Grey Lynn Library — Lecture Hall, 474 Great North Road, Grey Lynn, Auckland.
PARKING: There is plenty of free parking out front of the hall, to the side of the library. If it's full there is also free street parking.
PRICE: $20 casual class or buy a 4, 8 or 12-class concession card. Purchase a ticket here via Eventbrite, or pay cash or via internet banking before class.
WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING? Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and a good deodorant to keep your fellow dancers happy :-) Bring a water bottle and a gym towel if you need one. There is a kitchen on site if you need more drinking water and there are clean toilets available.
