Granny squares for beginners
Always wanted to give crochet a go, or fancy refreshing your craft skills with yarn and hooks? Come and learn the basics at this laidback workshop and make your own granny square!
In this two hour session we'll cover:
- Making a slip knot
- Crochet chains
- Treble crochet stitch
- Changing colour
All the essential skills you need to start your crochet journey! You'll be provided with beautiful British wool yarn and a crochet hook to keep, and work your way through making a granny square. We all learn at different paces, so you'll also leave with some further resources and a few treats.
We'll have a dedicated cosy table at Flirt for our small group workshop. It's a lovely venue right in Bournemouth Triangle, and there is a car park right next door. You'll be able to order drinks or a bite to eat - they have a brilliant menu with vegan-friendly options.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12 years and up. Youngsters must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Your tutor is local knit and crochet designer Becca from To Be Adorned. She's been teaching yarn craft skills for years and even worked for Simply Crochet magazine.
