About this Event
In this class you will learn the basics of needle felting with wool. This will include an overview of setup, materials, and tools - along with some tips and tricks to make getting started easier. We'll quickly get into trying out the needle felting by making a simple felted acorn, a lovely little holiday ornament!
This class is for absolute beginners, no experience necessary. All tools and materials provided, but below is a list of the materials we will be using if you'd like to purhcase and learn with your own. Hand dexterity is the primary mobility consideration, due the requirement of repetitive and precise movements.
Please be aware that in working with needles, you may poke yourself in the process of learning.
Although materials will be offered, these are the materials we will be using if you'd like to bring your own:
- 1 oz of off-white or cream-colored felting wool (looks best with the acorn top, but can be any color)
- Two 38, 40 or 42 gauge felting needles
- One foam or wool felting pad at least 5"x5"
