About this Event
It can be confusing to decipher which fruit trees need what type of pruning in summer. Let Fruit Works Co-operative guide you in how to identify what to cut, save and train in the summer months.
By the end of the session you'll have learned more about how to:
- Prune apple and pear trees that have been trained, e.g. cordon, espalier
- Prune stone fruit trees (plums, damsons, cherries etc)
Gott's Park Rose Garden
The old walled garden has trained apple trees, other fruit and (a few roses!). It is just off Stanningley Road and can easily be accessed by bus and the cycle super-highway. There is ample car parking outside Gott's Mansion.
We will provide pruning tools and gloves, but feel free to bring a pair of secateurs if you have them.
We want this event to be accessible for as many people as possible, so tickets are available on a Pay As You Feel basis. The recommended donation is £20, but this can be higher or lower depending on your circumstance.
