Learning Resources for Preschool Educators

Synopsis

Research suggests that the quality of teacher-child interactions within the preschool classroom play a crucial role in children’s development, learning and behaviour. Teacher-child interactions can be defined as the social and instructional exchanges teachers and children have throughout the day and every day.

This talk will present key findings from the Singapore Kindergarten Impact Project (SKIP) on the quality of teacher-child interactions in 80 preschools. Preschool teachers, parents and other caregivers can use these findings to enhance children’s learning and development through quality interactions. This talk will also share information on the development project, ‘Learning Resources for Preschool Educators’ which is based on the findings on the quality of teacher-child interactions in the SKIP project.
