⭐ What is bellydance?Learn belly dancing; a cultural dance from the Middle Eastern and North African territories. A more precise name would be Raqs Sharki or oriental dance, which is the direct translation of the Arabic word. In Turkey it is also called oriental dance.
Today this dance style is found and practiced all over the world, both as a performative dance and as a cultural and social activity.
⭐ With this class you'll gain ⭐
We’ll use the dance as a fun exercise to benefit from the healthy and strengthening movements. While also learning a little about the dance culture, musicality and history surrounding the dance style.
Dancing can help increase your flexibility, body awareness and self-confidence.
⭐ Class environment
The teaching session always includes warming up and light stretching to prepare our bodies for exercising. We always end the class with a cooling down session.
The steps and movements are taught through small combos.
Each week has a specific focus eg. arm-movements one week and shimmies the next...
⭐ Practical info
Wear your normal training clothes with a scarf or coin belt around the hips.
We usually dance barefeet or with socs on.
Please bring a water bottle.
This course is taught in English.
Dates 30/10 - 31/1* at 19:30 - 20:30
*No dancing in 19/12, 26/12 and 2/1 due to Christmas holiday.
