MPF1 Audio Engineering Intensive
The Goal:
MPF1 is designed to educate audio professionals and aspiring music and sound engineers through practical, real-world training. The course emphasizes on hands-on learning, equipping students with skills in recording, mixing, and mastering that can be applied immediately in commercial environments.
What You Will Learn
* Proper equipment setup and signal flow
* Optimizing levels and settings for specific vocalists and applications
* Vocal stacking and layering to enhance the stereo field
* Vocal editing, alignment, and pitch correction
* Leveling and pre-master processing
* Mastering techniques to achieve commercial standards
* Client communication, rapport building, and contract negotiation
* Radio and digital submission guidelines
MPF1 is a 95% hands-on and 5% theory experience. Students actively participate in the full production process, including recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. Finished projects may be included in your demo reel.The course also includes a 6-month unpaid internship, with immediate opportunities for alumni to be considered for paid roles.

Friday Feb. 20th 11:00am - 7:00pm
Day 1: Focus on Recording
* Studio orientation and engineering mindset
* Applied recording theory including signal flow, gain staging, and mic placement
* Hands-on tracking sessions
* Surprise guest artist recording session
Saturday Feb. 21st 11:00am - 7:00pm
Day 2: Focus on Mixing
* Critical listening and mix fundamentals
* EQ, compression, space, and balance
* Guided mixing sessions
* Guest artist playback and feedback
Sunday Feb. 22nd 11:00am - 7:00pm
Day 3: Focus on Mastering
* Mastering fundamentals and loudness standards
* Hands-on mastering session
* Final playback with guest artist
* Delivery formats and release preparation
* Networking lunch
Leave the weekend confident in your ability to record, mix, and master music. You will also be armed with a finished portfolio project, backed by a lifelong community of peers, alumni, and mentors who continue to guide you as you open studios, engineer your own sessions, and navigate your future endeavors in music production.
