About Our Speaker: Nick Bellizzi

Nick Bellizzi is the Head Grower at Gotham Greens’ Davis California greenhouse where he leads the grow team in growing high-quality lettuce and basil, in a high-tech hydroponic greenhouse. Nick had previously worked with Tanimura and Antle, an innovative grower of both indoor and outdoor-grown vegetables. Nick entered his Agribusiness career with a B.S. in Agriculture from CSU Chico, attended a greenhouse horticulture program at Wageningen in the Netherlands, and is currently studying for his M.B.A. at the University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business.

About Gotham Greens

Gotham Greens is an indoor farming pioneer and fresh food brand on a mission to transform how and where fresh produce is grown. More than a decade after launching the nation’s first commercial-scale rooftop greenhouse in New York City, Gotham Greens remains committed to bringing more local and sustainably grown greens to consumers across the country while conserving vital resources through innovative technology. We build and operate one of the largest networks of climate-controlled, hydroponic greenhouses, allowing us to grow and deliver long-lasting and delicious leafy greens, herbs, salad dressings, dips and cooking sauces to our customers, 365 days of the year.

About The Series: Learn From a Local

Learn from a Local is an on-going speaker series hosted by AgStart, a non-profit organization supporting entrepreneurs advancing innovation in agriculture, food, and health. Typically on the 1st Thursday evening of every month, AgStart hosts a local speaker from the agriculture, food, and health world to speak on a topic relevant to our entrepreneurial ecosystem. Our goal is to offer a space to connect with local individuals and learn from leaders in our local AgriFoodTech sector on topics relevant to our AgStart community. Events take place in our AgStart Event Center: 1100 Main St., Suite 170, Woodland, CA 95695. An approximate event agenda is detailed below.
