LEARN BASIC HAND HOOPING TRICKS And practice being body positive at the same time!
Come join us at Veterans Memorial Park for a fun-filled event where you can learn some awesome hand hooping tricks!
Since this is a free event, no hoops will be provided. You can find inexpensive lightweight hoops at Big 5 Sporting Goods or on Amazon. Just don't get a weighted one for hand tricks. The exact size doesn't matter much. Your hoop should be big enough to reach from your foot to your thigh, at least.
I suggest you be at least 8 years old and only come to focus on our skill building instead of bringing young ones who will want to scatter and play at the various playgrounds. This will be a great chance for us to get to know new people and maybe other girls and women or even guys who want to improve the way we have believed about our bodies. If you can stand, and if you have arms and hands, you can hand hoop!
We will meet near the tennis and volleyball court on the south side of the park, across from the library. There may not be restrooms available at the park so try not to drink too much liquid directly before you arrive! (However, there is a dairy queen not far from the park.)
We will hold the same event in October as well so if you can't attend this one please come next time!
If you already know how to hand hoop you may not necessarily learn anything new by attending, but you are still welcome. Please just be aware that everyone will have varying learning curves and abilities, so if you are outstanding at your tricks, we hope you will be patient and not show off unless we ask for a demo on some tricks we should target learning for next time.
