Join us at Metro Records Saturday November 23rd from 1:00PM – 3:00PM as Tracy DeLong from “Turntables by Tracy” shares his knowledge of turntables through 3 interactive presentations. These presentations are for everyone from beginners to long time turntable owners. Each presentation will be 20-30 minutes long with opportunities for hands-on engagement and questions.
Itinerary (times are an estimate):
1st Presentation: Turntables 101 for Beginners (1pm – 1:30pm)
• Turntable function & operation.
• Recommended beginner turntables.
• Proper turntable setup & placement.
2nd Presentation: Turntables for the Intermediate (1:45pm – 2:15pm)
• Turntable speed regulation & how it’s done.
• Balancing and setting the tracking force on a tonearm demonstration.
• What is anti-skate and how to set it.
3rd Presentation: Turntables for the Advanced (2:30pm – 3:00pm)
• The tonearm & cartridge relationship.
• Proper cartridge alignment & demonstration
• Stylus shape & mounting style – does it matter?
Show up for 1, 2 or stay for all 3! Our ultimate goal is to share our knowledge of turntables and equip you with the skills needed to perform simple repairs and adjustments to keep your turntable happy and healthy for years to come!
