Taanvi Arekapudi has written Uplift Teens Today: Coping Strategies for Mental Health. A 13-year-old bestselling author, she received the C.P. and Dorothy Johnson Humanitarian Award for 2022. This youth ambassador’s work to challenge the stigma of mental health issues has been praised by the media.
Christina Braver writes steamy, small-town, contemporary romance set in the Pacific Northwest and is known for her Perry Harbor series. “A little bit nerdy and a little bit dirty,” her books address deeper issues such as women’s sexual health and sex positivity for all genders.
Corky Parker has a background in writing, film, design and environmentalism, and her work has been recognized internationally. She is the author of La Finca: Love, Loss and Laundry on a Tiny Puerto Rican Island, winner of the 2022 Nancy Pearl Award for best memoir as well as other accolades.
Fred Poyner IV is a historian with over 30 years researching and writing about Pacific Northwest history and art. His debut work, The First Sculptor of Seattle, received the Washington Museum Association’s Award of Excellence and other honors. A book on Native American sculpture is forthcoming.
Rita Sturam Wirkala, PhD, writes essays, poetry, children's stories and novels, including The Encounter: A Story of Love, Immigration and Environmental Crime. She is also an editor, former University of Washington professor and founder of All Bilingual Press, which publishes books in Spanish.
Joyce Yarrow is an author of literary novels of suspense that, according to Library Journal, “appeal to readers who enjoy unusual mysteries with an international setting.” She is a Pushcart nominee who has received a CIPA/Evvy gold award in Women’s Fiction for her 2022 coming-of-age novel, Sandstorm.
