FREE Public Visual Arts Program
Leap Off the Pages (LOTP) Art Program Description
Thursday nights from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30
Starting September 5th- October 24th
**Limited to 20 Registrants, Waitlist is available
An Innovative, intergenerational program fostering socialization between ages 18-75 yrs old. Through art workshops where participants develop stories and create individualized characters from modern or classic tales.
***Registeration required, spaces limited
Levels of skill:
This workshop is open to anyone as long as you have your own cellphone that you can take photos with. You need not have photo editing experience.
Depending on what you want to create, you can learn from the basic skills to more complicated skills.
Program expectations & goals:
· Attendance: this will be an eight-week program. Each workshop will be 2 hrs. Each class will have a different set of skills and goals offered.
· Equipment: Photography will be created with the use of your own cell phone cameras.
· Photo editing software: at week 4 of the program each participant will be given access to photo editing software for their phone. There will also be Photoshop editing software available to participants to use while in the workshops during class on your own laptop or one provided for use in class.
· You must be able to attend all classes in order to have your finished artwork framed and printed and to be in the exhibit. As well as to be in the program.
· You must make sure you have at least 5 gb on your phone in order to be able to use the editing software and to take photos needed for workshops.
EXHIBIT November 9th- December14th
Art Exhibit Opening: November 9th (Saturday) 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
1-month exhibit opening & closing ceremony of the LEAP OFF THE PAGES, Be the Hero in Your own Story
CLOSING Ceremony: December 14th Tuesday 5:30-7:30 p.m.
