Leanne Kean has been working as a freelance singer in the local music scene since 2002 (at the ripe age of 12). Through-out the year she performs as a soloist for many different venues (weddings, evening sets at pubs & breweries, corporate functions, tribute shows, back-up vocals, fundraisers & benefits) She is known to do touring shows across the province with Brian Way & Sandy Morris; such as “Summer Of Love”, “How Sweet It Is: James Taylor”, “The Music Of 1975”, “Trio: Farther Along” and “Running On Faith: Eric Clapton.” She was also a showcased singer for “Our Divas Do Christmas” in 2006/2016/2017. She was also featured in local shows such as; The “NSO ; “Music Of The Night” (2023), “Silver Ball” (2016), “Music Is Medicine”, “Craig Sharpe Presents - Friends With Benefits” and “The Best Of The Canadians” at The Majestic Theatre this last January. Leanne has been a private music instructor for the last 15 years.She obtained her “Voice Technique & Musicianship” specialist certification from Berklee College Of Music (based in Boston, MA) in 2013 which focused on vocal technique, music theory, ear-training and the essentials of teaching contemporary voice. She attended the “Vocal Pedagogy Professional Workshop 2018” (acquiring the professional development course on campus) at the Boston Conservatory. Leanne had to take a break from her music career from April to December 2023, as she was battling stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is currently 2 years cancer-free and is over the moon to be back in the music circle doing what she loves most!
