A Three-day journey into the art of fluid, expressive movement. This intensive combines release techniques, floorwork, and contact improvisation, focusing on the principles of weight, momentum, spirals, and off-axis alignment.

Day 1: Foundations of Movement
Energize your practice with dynamic warm-ups and
Release Technique fundamentals. Explore the
basics of Contact Improvisation and discover fluid
transitions across space.
Day 2: Deepening Technique and Partnering
Build advanced ski ls in Floor Work and weight
sharing through Contact Improvisation. Integrate
these principles into a choreographic phrase that
emphasizes flow and connection.
Day 3: Integration and Improvisation
Combine everything you’ve learned in creative
improvisation tasks and a co laborative movement
jam. Conclude with a celebratory flow session
blending techniques.

IMPROVISATION, OR EMBODIED MOVEMENT PRACTICES. SUITABLE FOR
INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED PARTICIPANTS, THE WORKSHOPS WILL MOVE AT
THE PACE OF THE SHARED AWARENESS, ENSURING THE GROUP PROGRESSES

WHO IS JUST_JOSH
Joshua Jarvis Jones – Dancer, Facilitator, and Choreographer.
Joshua Jarvis Jones is a contemporary dance artist whose work combines technical mastery with emotional authenticity. A graduate of the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Josh uses movement as a tool for story telling, bridging personal experience with universal connection.
Josh’s artistic path was profoundly shaped by experiences of loss and healing, inspiring him to explore dance as a language for resilience and shared humanity. His work centre's on release techniques, floorwork, and contact improvisation, blending structured technical training with fluid, expressive movement.
As a performer, he has collaborated with artists such as Ricardo Buscarini (No Lander) and Madeline Shan (Sex in Real Life), touring across the UK and Europe. His projects often involve deep research, exploring themes of intimacy, identity, and emotional connection.
As a facilitator, Josh leads workshops and classes across Europe, including Circus Festival Rozstoc and the European Juggling Convention. In 2024, he launched Lean_In in Bristol, a space fostering creativity and connection through movement. His teaching emphasizes release, fluidity in floorwork, and the shared dynamics of contact improvisation. Josh’s dedication to growth includes a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training and advanced training in contact improvisation with leaders like Hugh Stainer. His work celebrates dance as a space for vulnerability, resilience, an creative expression.
