Right from the asshole of writer & actor Mak Shealy + Directed by Animals (HBO) Co-Creator Mike Luciano.
After battling severe stomach ailments for their entire life (including but not limited to puking, cramping, shitting bed during sex), Leaky consults yet another doctor to finally solve their gut concerns. Skeptical of the doctor's insistence that their own anxiety is to blame, and confused by their problematic romantic feelings for her, Leaky embarks on a journey of self-analysis to uncover the root of their toot problem. But time is of the essence as life events converge to make performing their small stakes solo show one with big rewards -- can Leaky can get through an hour on stage without shitting their pants??
You've heard about how “all hot people have IBS”? This is the show for you. Come be in community with every smokin’ person in LA at the Lyric Hyperion because we all relate to a dirty little secret you don't want your hinge date to know. By the end of the show, I swear to fucking god, you'll feel so validated that you’ll be leaving the bathroom door open with pride. (It’s also for normal looking peeps who just like to laugh at poo puns, but not too many, respectfully.)
LEAKY is inhabited by MAK SHEALY (she/they) writer, performer, and producer based in Los Angeles and New York. Mak’s work highlights queer and non-binary experiences through the subversion of form and humor.
Mak’s been hailed for “nailing the caricature of a foolish girl lost in a cult” by the New York Times (they weren’t hip to the femme non-binary actors @ the time). When not writing about embarrassing moments of body failure, Mak can be found creating new plays (yay live theatre!), teaching poetry to the elderly and spending time with their cat, Mu, who is literally the shit (and sometimes will take sympathy shits). Mak can be seen in Season 1 of Love Life (HBO) and on various cable shows when you're back home for the holidays in your parent's basement.
Directed by MIKE LUCIANO (he/him) director, writer, actor and co-creator of the HBO animated comedy series, ‘Animals.’
