League of Women Voters: School Board Candidate Forums

Lehigh Valley Public Media is partnering with the to present four school board candidate forums this election season.

The League of Women Voters will organize and run the forums. Lehigh Valley Public Media will host them, livestream them and broadcast them on PBS39.

The free hourlong forums, moderated by the League of Women Voters, will be held before studio audiences at 7 p.m. at the Univest Public Media Center on the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem.

• Allentown School Board: Monday, Sept. 29
• East Penn School Board: Tuesday, Sept. 30
• Parkland School Board: Monday, Oct. 6
• Southern Lehigh School Board: Tuesday, Oct. 7

All candidates whose names will appear on the ballot have been invited to participate.

Each forum will be streamed live on the PBS39 YouTube channel as well as on LehighValleyNews.com. Dates for broadcast on PBS39 have yet to be set, but will air during the month of October.

The municipal election in Pennsylvania is Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Candidates will provide opening and closing statements. They will be given equal time to answer questions and address issues posed by the moderator, by student representatives selected by the League, and from written audience questions screened by the forum organizers.

Attendance is free. All attendees must register; walk-in registrations are welcome.

Seating is first come, first served. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early. Please be in your seats by 6:45 p.m to facilitate a prompt start.
