LEADERS CONNECT:
A relaxed networking event for non-profit sector leaders in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
About this Event

Come along to this Leaders Connect event to hear two inspirational non-profit sector leaders, Carly Nieri and Julie Worrall, talk about their experiences of leading through the unexpected.

Carly Nieri is the fundraising leader who spearheaded Oxford University's campaign to raise money to the fund the development of the world's first Covid-19 vaccine. As the pandemic hit, Carly and her team suddenly found themselves on the front line in the race to create a vaccine. Within hours they were speaking with potential donors from across the world to garner support towards the ground-breaking research being led by Professor Sarah Gilbert and her team which led to the creation of the Oxford Covid-19 vaccine. Carly will share her experience of leading her team through this intense time, and how it has shaped her leadership.

Julie Worrell is the CEO of Penny Brohn UK, a National charity providing free care and support to anyone affected by cancer, before, during and after treatment. In recent years, Penny Brohn UK has been through transformational change and, with her team Jules is leading a new approach to how the charity achieves its purpose. Jules will draw parallels between leading an organisation through the unexpected and her own cancer experience.

See below for more information about Carly and Jules.

We thank both of our speakers for giving their time for free and helping to make the event accessible to all.

I attended the Leaders Connect event in Bristol . It was friendly and welcoming group where I was able to connect with other non-profit professionals in a relaxed environment. The speaker was engaging, dynamic and generous in sharing her knowledge. I would definitely recommend Leaders Connect to anyone looking to build their professional network, share challenges and get inspired.” Bryony Long, Missing People

I'm new to the whole networking thing, or more truthfully, I’ve been avoiding it… However having attending a Leaders Connect event recently I've realised I have been missing out! I found it very welcoming from the moment I walked in, had some really great conversations and was blown away by the guest speaker. Furthermore the organisation and ease of booking where topped off with a really nice brunch! Highly recommended.” - JP Edgington, Professional Edge Project
