About this Event
Join Field Studies Ireland for a certified, fully outdoor workshop designed to inspire early years staff to use their outdoor environments as a stimulating space for play, learning, and exploration, across Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland pre-school settings.
This practical course introduces the core principles of outdoor education, exploring how outdoor play, sensory learning, and experiential approaches can support early development, creativity, and wellbeing. Participants will discover how to make the most of outdoor spaces to nurture curiosity, imagination, and confidence in young learners.
Participants will enjoy a fully outdoor course filled with hands-on, playful, and sensory activities that bring early years learning to life. Together, we will explore how risk, play, exploration, and curiosity can be used as powerful tools to inspire engagement and development across all stages and abilities.
Throughout the workshop, we will explore practical ways to create meaningful outdoor learning opportunities in early years settings. This will include planning, risk assessing, and managing outdoor environments, while taking part in activities that model best practice in child-led exploration and discovery.
This certified workshop is designed to empower early years practitioners to increase their understanding of learning through outdoor play, enhancing engagement, connection, and confidence in natural settings. It is suitable for pre-school staff, early years educators, childcare providers, and others working with young children.
Expect an immersive, 100% outdoor learning experience.
