Learn how to empower peers and improve your supervision skills when supervising Peer Recovery Supporters in the workplace.
About this Event

Athens Mental Health Inc.,dba The Gathering Place is sponsoring a series of facilitated workshops for supervisors of Peer Recovery Supporters in a clinical or non-clinical setting.

Supervisors must be a Qualified Peer Recovery Supporter Supervisor, having taken the 12 modules from Ebased Academy https://mha.ohio.gov/community-partners/peer-supporters/ebased-academy-courses

and the 4-hour Peer Support Supervisor training online from OhioMHAS.

This series is targeted for mental health and substance use disorder providers, supervising Certified Peer Recovery Supporters and supervisors may be other CPRS's who have taken the Peer Support Supervisor training from OhioMHAS or clinicians or administrators who have also taken the Ebased Academy Peer Recovery Supporter training 12 modules and OhioMHAS online training.


Parking will be provided and fuel cards distributed for mileage for every date of training.

Coffee and snacks will be provided.


This free training opportunity is provided from a Recovery Supports: Leadership & Advocacy Training grant from the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services and in collaboration with Ohio University's College of Health Sciences & Professions.

Training Schedule: 6-part series- it is designed for participant to register for all dates

This is an in-person training and all trainings will be on a Friday from 10am-11:30am, held at Grover Center on Ohio University Campus.

May 17th-Trauma-Informed Care in the Workplace When Supervising Certified Peer Supporters

June 14th-Mentoring Certified Peer Supporters in the Workplace

July 19th-Inspiring and Developing Leadership when Supervising CPRS’s

July 26th-Learning to Teach Advocacy to Certified Peer Recovery Supporters

August 16th-Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Panel on Dynamics in Workplace

September 20th-Wrap-Up on Supervision, Development of a Best Practice of Supervising CPRS’s in the Workplace-Group Consensus


Priority Registration for Supervisors located in Southeast Ohio and Central Ohio.


Training limited to 40 registrations- Filling out one registration, registers you for all of the dates.
