Join tutor Sharon of Maybug Studio in the creative space at the Craft Barn in this NEW workshop for the next step in stained glass. This is a busy full day workshop that requires accuracy therefore previous experience of cutting glass is required. Generally leaded stained glass is used for larger items e.g. Church windows. At this workshop you will make a beautiful suncatcher (not the size of a church window though!).
Moving on from copper foiling to using lead Came to support your beautiful stained glass you will learn new techniques for leaded stained glass. Starting with choosing a design, you will progress to set out and cut your glass, prepare, cut and solder the lead came and finish with cementing the glass in place.
This workshop is kept to a small group with a maximum of 6 to ensure everyone has the space, tools and guidance they need. By the end of the day you will have your own unique leaded stained glass panel to hang up and enjoy.
NOTE: Customers must wear closed toe shoes, you will be using sharp tools and hot soldering irons. For these reasons there is an age limit of over 18s only and is not suitable for pregnant women due to the lead based solder used.
Cost: £75 - includes tuition, use of tools, tea and coffee.
Materials: The cost of the materials is not included in the course fees. The approximate cost of materials is £30-£45 and payable to the tutor on the day.
Please bring: lunch, make sure that hair is tied back and bring your glasses if you wear them.
Cancellation deadline: 28th June
NOTE: the Craft Barn is accessed via external stone steps with handrail and unfortunately may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
