Course Overview & Scope
Pinchin’s Lead Work Operations training course is designed for workers who will be required to perform Class 1, 2A, and 2B lead work operations. This training teaches the participants about the uses and health hazards of lead, and all aspects involved in performing these lead abatement operations (work area setup, measures, and procedures to be used, personal protective equipment, hygiene practices, and waste and disposal requirements). This course will also cover the training requirements required to perform Class 1, 2A, and 2B lead operations in accordance with the applicable guidelines. Please note: the scope of this course does not include the requirements for performing Class 3A, or 3B lead work.
**All participants will be required to use their full legal names upon registration. Participants will also be required to attend the full training session and pass a written quiz to receive a certificate for this course.**
Course Outline
In this course you will learn about:
- Properties and uses of lead in buildings
- Hazards and health effects of lead exposure
- Overview of the Environmental Abatement Council of Canada (EACC) Lead Guideline and applicable regulatory requirements, including waste disposal
- Classification of Lead Work Operations
- Measures and procedures, personal protective equipment, and worker hygiene for Class 1, 2A, and 2B Lead Work Operations
- Practical “hands-on” exercise – construction of a simple enclosure
