About this Event
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency invites community leaders (educators, public health advocates, environmental justice advocates, outreach specialists, environmental staff, social workers, community health workers, youth leaders, local government officials) and others to join us for a train-the-trainer session to learn how about the Lead Awareness in Indian Country: Keeping our Children Healthy! Curriculum (commonly referred to as the Lead Awareness Curriculum).
By the end of the session, participants will know simple actions they can take to reduce lead exposure, be familiar with all materials included within the Lead Awareness Curriculum, understand how the curriculum is designed to be modified to fit an individual community’s needs, and have a plan for how to facilitate sessions in their own communities. Attendees will receive a digital certificate of participation upon completion of the session.
The curriculum was built with tribes but designed to be adaptable for all communities. It is designed to be taught by community leaders with experience educating and training members of their community. Prior knowledge of lead or lead exposure is not required to teach the curriculum.
