About this Event
LEAD ABATEMENT CONTACTOR TRAINING
This 40-hour Lead Abatement training course is required by the Ohio Department of Health to apply for a Lead Abatement Contractor license. This training course uses both the EPA model Lead Abatement Contractor curriculum, HUD Guidelines, and includes OSHA and EPA compliance requirements. The class focuses on identification of safe work practices and job specifications for controlling hazards of lead paint, dust, and soil. Table top exercises are used to teach how to choose abatement methods that are most cost-effective. Trainees participate in hands-on demonstrations of abatement techniques, personal protective equipment, and environmental testing methods.
The trainings goal is an individual who has the knowledge to be responsible for supervising safe, effective residential lead abatement projects.
