Genesis Opera Theatre will hold auditions for our production of Le Nozze di Figaro on Sunday, February 8th, from 4pm-9pm and Monday, February 9th, from 6pm-9pm. The production dates are 8/28-8/30. All rehearsals and the production will take place in the Escondido/ San Marcos area of North County San Diego. The rough rehearsal period will be confirmed at auditions, but will likely be in the evenings within the last 3 weeks of August. It will be expected that anyone cast will have their music learned prior to rehearsals starting due to the short time constraints of this production.
This opera will be sung in Italian. These auditions will be for all roles and chorus positions. If you are interested in a particular role, we would prefer you audition with an aria sung by that particular character if they have an aria. Otherwise, please offer at least one aria in Italian. All principals and chorus will be paid a stipend amount based on your role. Please note that we cannot offer housing at this time or pay for transportation.
Please note that the Role of Bartolo has already been cast.
The lead roles of Count Almaviva, Countess Almaviva, Susanna, and Figaro will be double cast, and possibly Cherubino.
