At once adventurous and skillful, candid and mysterious, the unprecedented sound of Beatrice Sberna & Gabriel de Oliveira has recently drawn resonance in the creative music scene internationally. The original music of this guitar and voice duo is an uncompromising expression of impro-songwriting: influenced by Italian cantautori and Brazilian “folk” traditions, contemporary pop and jazz, with a slightly punk ethos and a heartfelt delicacy.
Music for Hiccups
“music for hiccups” is a duo composed of Brussels-based musicians Chiara Bacci on voice and effects and Nicola Lancerotti on modular synths.
The improvised music they create centers around a continuous dialogue between modified voice and modular synthesizers. In their performances, the roles they play are intentionally left undefined: sometimes the voice can become an abstract disturbing sound, while modular synths can create melodic textures, and often they are intertwined in a manner that blurs the lines between them.
