This is a comedy course with a difference. Why? You ask. I will support you all the way and will encourage you to find your individual style and gently push you out of your comfort zone. I will help you find the comedian you want to be and I promise you, you won’t regret it. You don’t need to have any experience at all, but it’s also ok if you have performed before.The course starts on September 19th 2024 and will run for 8 weeks at the Railway Inn, Portslade. The classes will run from 7-9pm on Thursdays ending with a show in November for those who want to perform. There is no pressure to do so.
It’s for anybody who is interested in performing/performed before /public speaking, comedy writing and boosting your confidence, with the view to meeting new people and generally having fun.
During the course we:
learn how to structure/develop a comedy sketch
create/build routines with comedy writing techniques
deliver clever punchlines/afterthoughts
learn the art of stage presence /timing/microphone techniques
conquer stage fright & speak with confidence & charisma,
do group improv games/exercises to try out different styles.

It may look like an 8 week course with 2 hours a week, but Tori gives a lot of support as needed with our homework etc. between classes. She has excellent tips for creating a humorous set – which we were continuously trying out.
