The Local Business Institute (LBI) was created in the pandemic summer of 2020 in answer to specific needs of local business and to seize the opportunity to rethink our local economies. We help create and support thriving local business communities through education, research & community-building programs.
Part think tank, part school, part national leadership, and part training ground for local leadership, the Institute will be home to local leaders from across the country - around the globe. Through special projects, distance learning, virtual and live conferences, lectures and events, we will work to foster local, national and even global conversations around entrepreneurship and local economies.
We are excited to launch with a Happy Hour at Hoover’s Cooking, not only a local business but an icon of the Austin restaurant community. Hoover Alexander serves on the Local Business Institute’s Advisory Council and we appreciate both his sage advice and his home cooking! (Don't miss the margaritas too!)
