Best Parking Options:
To ensure a smooth visit, arrive early and consider these nearby parking areas:
Redoubt Car Park (BN22 7AQ) â Closest to the start of the procession. Pay-and-display. Limited spaces, so arrive early.
Pier Car Park (BN21 3EL) â Large capacity, 10-minute walk to Crown & Anchor. Good option if arriving closer to 7 PM.
Eastbourne Trinity Place Car Park (BN21 3BZ) â Multi-storey in the town centre, 15â20 minutesâ walk. Ideal for longer stays.
Seaside Road On-Street Parking (BN22 7NZ) â Short walk to the route, check for time restrictions.
College Road Car Park (BN21 4JJ) â Near Devonshire Park, about 20 minutes on foot but often less busy.
Treasure Island Car Park (BN22 7LQ) â Limited spaces but great for viewing the bonfire area. Arrive early before road closures.
Note: Parts of Royal Parade will be closed to traffic from around 6:30 PM due to the procession. Plan your arrival accordingly.
Parking and arriving
Road closures will begin at 18.00. If arriving before that time, on the seafront (B2106) parking
is available at Redoubt car park (Treasure Island) but please note parking charges apply until
18.00.
For those arriving after 18:00, Fishermanâs Green car park (also on the seafront) is a good
option as it is outside all road closures. Charges also apply here before 20:00.
There may be street parking nearer to the Crown & Anchor pub and the fire site end of the
seafront, but this is not within our control, very popular with the public and standard parking
fees and arrangements apply.
Additionally, there is an NCP car park at Trinity Place at the fire site end of town, this is prebookable. Eastbourne Trinity Place NCP Car Park | Pre-book Please remember the road
closures will be in place from 18.00 and at the fire site end of town may not be fully lifted till
23.00.
Toilets
Public toilets are available on the seafront near the pier and the bandstand, and we will have
portaloos available by the Crown & Anchor pub and at the fire site (for after the parade).
Toilets are also available in the Crown & Anchor and the Fishermanâs Club (at Fishermanâs
Green) but we ask that you purchase a drink if visiting them.
Forming up
Bands and societies are advised to meet from 18.00 at the Crown & Anchor pub (BN21 3DX).
Due to limited space, we ask you do not arrive at the pub before 17.30. On arrival please can
your banner carrier or lead member make contact with Daniel Rushton-Fisher.
Please identify two of your members to act as walking marshals â bring high viz jackets if you
can.
Eastbourne only, will take a memorial parade to the war memorial near the pier at 18.30.
At 19.00 Bonfire Societies will be asked to form up on Marine Parade (seafront), while bands
should form up on Marine Parade Road outside the Crown & Anchor.
The order of procession, as we know it so far, will be supplied prior to the event but please
check on arrival for the latest version. As the procession moves off, bands will be inserted
into the procession between the societies. This reduces the potential for congestion
immediately around the Crown & Anchor.
Procession One
At 19.15 the first procession will head eastbound (towards Fishermanâs Green) from the
Crown & Anchor and will turn on itself at Treasure Island to return to the Crown & Anchor
along the same route.
Please be aware that as the procession turns around it will be occupying both sides of the road
meaning that lit torches will be passing in close proximity, extra care should therefore be
taken to ensure no clashing of torches or people occurs.
On arrival at the Crown & Anchor the procession will de-torch in Marine Parade.
The de-torching will be carried out by members of Eastbourne bonfire society.
There will be a 20-minute interval during which the Effigy Team and accompanying band will
form up and depart for the fire site.
Procession Two
At 20.40 the procession will reform with bonfire societies on Marine Parade and bands outside
the Crown & Anchor. The same order of procession will be used as for Procession One.
At 20.50 the procession will head west part the pier to the RLNI Museum, down the Wish
Tower slope and on to the fire site located on the beach.
The fire site
On arrival at the fire site please listen carefully to instructions given by the Eastbourne
Bonfire Society marshals. We hope to allow parade members to use torches to light the
bonfire but if requested to do so, please give up your torch on arrival.
Bonfire societies and bands will be directed on to the beach, the exact area will be wind
dependent. We ask that you do not congregate immediately on arrival but move on as
directed. Any persons/bands not wishing to join us at the firesite should leave the procession
via Carlisle Road, this is right of the point where the parade turns down to the fire site.
There will be a bar and toilets at the fire site, so do linger and enjoy the fireworks.
Fireworks
Designated EBS members only will, in a controlled way, use fire crackers at the Wish Tower.
No discharging of any fireworks including rookies or flares are allowed within the main
processions, on the fire site or on the public highways, and please no banger carts. Any
offenders will be identified, reported to the authorities and dealt with at or after the event.
Torches
Please place used torches singularly at either side of the procession. Due to the close
proximity or parked cars along the route please avoid placing spent torches near cars and do
not allow torches to create mini bonfires. A pickup team will follow the procession.
We hope you have a great evening and if you have any questions, please ask one of the
Eastbourne Events team.
