Join Layla for a 2-hour workshop on layered quilting. You have to be or planning to become a member of the FabricLab at the White House.
About this Event

Layered hand quilting has a history stretching back to ancient times, evolving from practical uses like armor padding and warm garments to decorative art forms.

We will be piecing together 5 layers of fabric including pre-dyed fabric, wadding and organsa using simple embroidery techniques by hand.

All materials provided.

"If you are interested in joining the Fabric Lab at the White House following this workshop, please stay on for the induction session at 12pm. The induction will last no more than half an hour and will give you access to all The White House facilities, so you can use and enjoy them in your own time - bringing your personal fabric projects to life".
