Discover the magic of mono-printing with a gel plate in this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop. Using acrylic paints and an 8×10 gel plate, you’ll create vibrant, one-of-a-kind printed papers full of color, texture, and depth. This soft, flexible printing surface makes it easy to capture impressions from stamps, stencils, and a variety of recycled and natural materials—each pull revealing surprising and beautifully layered results.As you experiment with overlapping imagery and textures, you’ll produce a collection of unique prints that simply can’t be replicated by any other process. By the end of class, you’ll leave with multiple finished pieces that can be used as framed artwork, collage papers, greeting cards, or even decorative wrapping paper.
All materials are provided, but students are welcome to bring their own favorite stamps, stencils, or textured objects to personalize their prints even further. Come ready to play, experiment, and embrace the joy of process-driven artmaking!
