About this Event
Layering with mixed media is an expressive way to create layers and depth in an artwork. With Susan’s instruction, participants can have fun, let go of perfectionism and create a vibrant and innovative work of art. They will explore the basic principles of design and composition and will be introduced to mixed media/layering processes and materials such as mark making, layering paint and paper, excavating and more. They will finish their projects with cold wax and finally polish the piece. Materials for the class are included in the fee, except for the panels, which will be available for purchase in class. The workshop is open to adults over the age of 18.
On the subject of Creativity, Susan offers this quote from musician Charles Mingus: “Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird; that’s easy. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”
