Mental health struggles affect many people, draining their energy and joy for life. Many of them will rightly seek medical and psychological treatment. Yet, researchers also have recognized that people need spiritual care and healing. Led by Dr. Stephen Pietsch, associate professor of Practical Theology, participants will come away with practical skills drawn from the Christian tradition of providing care and comfort to those in mental distress through the use of scriptural teachings and insights from Martin Luther. The Seminary's Lay Bible Institute is open to lay people, students, pastors and others interested in the proclamation of the Gospel. The registration deadline is Sept. 23, 2024. Cost to attend is $20 per person ($35 with lunch).
