About this Event
Join us to celebrate the improvements of Lawrence Weston Road traffic-free path, with a guided wildlife walk, nature-inspired storytelling and free food!
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Guided wildlife walk / storytelling / free food
- We will start off with a short official opening ceremony on the Lawrence Weston Road traffic-free path.
- Then we have a guided wildlife walk along the path with . This will be a short, gentle walk and last approximately 40 minutes. On the walk, you can learn about the local animals and plants that live next to the path.
- After our wildlife walk, we will make our way on foot to main hall (BS11 0RX), in Lawrence Weston.
- We then have local storyteller telling nature-inspired stories in Ambition Lawrence Weston main hall (for approx. 45 mins - stories suitable for all ages). Corinne uses an interactive style of storytelling, but any children attending will need to be able to settle down and listen to allow a quiet space for the stories.
- Once the storytelling has ended, we will open up our buffet and we can have some food and refreshments.
Sustrans has been working with partners to deliver a safer and more accessible route for everyone who wants or needs to use it. The Lawrence Weston Road traffic-free path is part of National Cycle Network Route 41 which links Lawrence Weston and Avonmouth. As well as being part of the National Cycle Network, this path is also a key part of the Avon Cycle Way.
This free event will celebrate the completion of the upgrades to Lawrence Weston traffic-free path, including surface upgrades, accessibility improvements, ecological investment and crucially lighting installed on this predominantly unlit route. Click here to discover more about the upgrades.

Start: 12:30pm (If you can, please arrive a few minutes early, so we can understand who has advanced tickets before the event begins)
End: 3.45pm
Please note that you are welcome to leave the event early if you need to.
WHERE TO MEET?
Arrive for 12:30pm at the southeastern entrance of Lawrence Weston Rd traffic-free path, opposite Atwood Drive, BS11 0SR. If you can, please arrive a few minutes early, so we can understand who has advanced tickets before the event begins.

HOW CAN I JOIN?
This is a free event. Please note that event spaces are limited and will be given on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
You can either turn up on the day or book a free ticket through this Eventbrite page by clicking register. You can book more than one ticket at a time for your group of friends/family.
Please note that places at the event are limited. To avoid disappointment, reserve a spot in advance through this Eventbrite page. If the event is oversubscribed, those who have booked an online ticket will be prioritised, and those who attend without a pre-booked ticket cannot be guaranteed a spot.

With the first portion of this event being outside, we ask you to come dressed appropriately for the weather - bring any layers you need and a waterproof coat, with shoes good for walking.
