Welcome to Louisiana Wind Energy Week Land-Based Wind + Transmission Day!
Come join us on Wed, Jan 29, 2025 in New Orleans for a day dedicated to learning the basics of wind energy, exploring where potential for land-based wind energy projects might be in Louisiana and the deep south, and engage in the ongoing Gulf of Meixco Offshore Wind Transmission study with federal partners.
Program Overview
The program will focus on needed developments in transmission to facilitate wind energy development in the State of Louisiana as well as technological developments enabling land-based wind development. The program will offer attendees opportunities to engage ongoing work by the Department of Energy, NREL, NOAA, and BOEM in assessing transmission needs relevant to offshore wind in the Gulf of Mexico. NREL will offer a demonstration of its latest LBW connector tool.
