About this Event
Join Ian (co-founder), our resident lavender expert, for an informative and relaxed talk held right in the field — surrounded by the lavender itself.
Over the course of the session, you'll learn:
- The varieties we grow — and why we grow different ones. Each lavender has its own character, purpose and place in the field.
- The distillation process — how we turn rows of flowers into pure essential oil, step by step.
- What hydrosol is — the lesser-known by-product of distillation, and why it's prized in its own right.
- The bees — their essential role in the field, and what we do to look after them.
- How essential oil is produced — from harvest timing through to the finished bottle.
Ian will share the science, the craft and the small details that come from years of working the field, and there'll be plenty of time for questions along the way.
What's included Your ticket covers the talk and a field pass, so you're welcome to wander the rows, take photographs and enjoy the lavender at your own pace before or after the session.
