Originally from Bristol, singer songwriter Lauren Walker aka Damsel in Distress has been our local Wotton songstress for the past 15 years. Lauren has been playing music for as long as she can remember, singing, writing and playing an array of music and instruments and went on to study at music college.Over the years Lauren has played with various Bristol bands including One Chance, Kosha, the self-named Damsel in Distress band and Psycho Baby - in which they randomly supported East 17! Lauren has also recorded and performed with former local Nibley performer and Talk Club mental health charity co-creator Gavin Thorpe on his recent Rewind album. But she is more well known to us recently for her audience inspiring solo acoustic performances, recently performing at the final Nibley Festival and Lakefest! You can hear a wide range of influences in her own music ranging from Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse, Florence and the Machine to Evanescence and PVRIS written into her music, with her heartfelt lyrics brought out in soft to edgy undertones.
Expect an evening brimming with original music with some well-known covers thrown in . A perfect way to dust off your January blues and support our local musicians.
