Come and spend the day creating this beautiful hand embroidered Christmas wreath panel with Laura Houel, a textile artist and tutor based in Warwickshire.Laura creates textiles predominantly using vintage, found and repurposed materials and threads and is forever searching at car boots, charity shops and antiques centres for textile ‘treasure’.
During this workshop you will be guided through creating your own festive hand quilted panel using Laura’s pattern (which you will be provided with on the day).
Laura will teach a variety of hand embroidery stitches so you can first create your hand quilted base on beautiful vintage linen before embellishing and embroidering the wreath design, learning about composition and placement to create a balanced design.
You will receive a pack of materials on the day to create your panel but please feel free to bring along any special bits of lace or fabric (snippets of lace or fabric from old garments, buttons, even old bits of jewellery) to incorporate into your piece to make it extra special.
£75 including most materials and refreshments.
